Are your Remote Workers and Branch Offices capable of VoIP connectivity?

Monark specializes in VoIP Phones systems and IP-PBX systems. We therefore have a vested interest in ensuing that all users of IPT devices, IP-PBX and VoIP Phones systems are capable of providing the optimum Quality of Service (QoS) for VoIP.

Measure the quality and performance of Internet connections for Voice over IP (VoIP) usage by simulating real VoIP sessions between your server and branch offices, remote locations and customer sites.

The MySpeed Test will run a VoIP simulation; provide you with a visual indication of the download and upload speed of your internet connection and give you an indication of the quality of VoIP you could receive.

Press "Click to Start MySpeed" to TEST YOUR BROADBAND CONNECTION FOR VOIP QUALITY NOW

'); ');
Java support is required to run MySpeed

Note: This test you have run will give you a good assessment of the VoIP quality of your local broadband service but for a truly accurate assessment, MyVoIPSpeed Server must be purchased and installed at the Office where your IP-PBX VoIP phone system is installed The remote location can then test broadband service directly to the Main Office.

Factors critical for quality VoIP conversations are:

  • Download Speed. Is the download speed high enough to support a high quality voice-over-IP conversation?
  • Upload Speed. A critical factor in VoIP conversations. Is the upload speed high enough to support a high quality voice-over-IP conversation? Usually the cause when you caller cannot hear you. It is very dependent on the type of broadband service used. Can be a problem with 'lite' DSL services. Can be a problem with a cable broadband service which shares the service with everyone in your neighborhood.
  • Quality of Service (QoS): Is the QoS capable of providing a relative constant stream of data? This is the key to providing a high quality voice-over-IP connection. A consistent broadband speed results in a better quality connection for time-sensitive applications such as VoIP or multimedia. What is quality of service? QoS= Minimum Speed /Maximum Speed. A minimum of 80% is required (high 90% recommended) Variation in the download rate is undesirable for VoIP producing jitter and broken connections.
  • Jitter: Jitter is the variation in time between data packets sent and packets arriving caused by network difficulties such as route changes, congestion, packet loss, traffic regulators etc., and plays a major role in the quality of a VoIP call. Excessive jitter occurs when the time delay is too long (high latency) and packets arrive outside the time window and get lost from the call (discarded). As a result, the recomposed sound no longer reflects exactly what was sent, and depending of the extent of the delay may not be understandable by the recipient. If jitter is better than 1 ms you will get high Quality Voice; better than 5ms and voice quality is standard; over 10 ms you start to get broken sound which is unacceptable for business quality VoIP conversations.
  • Packet Loss: Packet loss plays a key role in the quality of VoIP connections, as high packet loss of voice packets causes some of the voice data not to arrive to the recipient. Packet loss occurs when voice packets are discarded by the jitter buffer, or dropped by network routers/switches due to high congestion. The percentage of packet loss and reports the associated level of sound quality. Packet loss must be under 1% (under 0.5% preferred) for acceptable voice quality. Packet loss over 1% will result in broken conversations.

    An IT Manager should consider installing MyVoIPSpeed Server NOC or MyVoIPSpeed Server IP Support to quickly troubleshoot service delivery problems and identify the cause of remote customer connectivity problems.

    We offer all users of IPT devices; IP-PBX and VoIP Telephone Systems these test tools at discounted prices (Please mention Promo Code MVDNC when you call).
